Boston Paper Collective

When I first read about the Boston Paper Collective, I was very intrigued by this newly begun community papermaking resource. How do these places begin, function, and grow?

These questions are being answered by Melinda Cross, director and founder of the Boston Paper Collective. Melinda started the Boston Paper Collective two years ago and has been tirelessly working to see it succeed ever since. She has been making paper for most of her life and this continues to impact her personal artmaking process of fine art marbling. The BPC now hosts workshops, offer equipment rentals, studio memberships, and sometimes holds other fun book arts-related events. Alongside years of experience and research to back her project, here in Boston Melinda also has access to the well-known papermaking equipment guru Lee Scott Mcdonald.

The BPC is a great space with a lot of potential that Melinda is also working to expand into a book arts center, with lots of interest from the local community. If you’re in the area, you should definitely come check it out!
